“We work on the last great places and the best of the rest.”
Native Habitat Restoration, LLC
Native Habitat Restoration, LLC was formed in 2010 by Jessica Murray Toro and Sari Hoy to help landowners, conservation organizations and municipal agencies remove invasive plant species from sensitive environments and landscapes, and restore the diversity and function of native habitats. Together, they provide over 20 years of experience in conservation planning, project management, managing invasive plant species, and restoring habitats.
“We really care about what we do – we see the bigger picture.
Our work is meaningful on a local and global level.”

Jessica Murray Toro
Jessica Murray Toro, Co-owner and Project Manager, has designed and implemented many invasive control and restoration efforts over the past 16 years. Jess worked for 11 years at the Nature Conservancy as the Conservation Program Manager of the Berkshire Taconic Landscape where she coordinated the Weed It Now project. This project is the largest invasive species control effort to date in the Northeast and covers 9,000 acres over three different states. Jessica administered this $1 million dollar grant as well as over $600,000 in other wetland restoration grants.
At Native Habitat Restoration, Jess designs the restoration of floodplain forests, woodlands, and riparian areas as well as specializing in projects to improve rare wetlands and critical habitat for federally-listed species. These multiple phased projects require planning, permitting, mapping, and monitoring.
Jess is a Conservation Network Coach who facilitates the Conservation Action Planning process for conservation projects around the world. She is trained to incorporate climate change projections into conservation planning.
